Optical microphone on high-voltage pylon

After a successful development project with APG (Austrian Power Grid), the XARION measuring system has now been installed directly on a 380,000V high-voltage pylon. The optical microphone is used for acoustic emission measurements (in high EMI) at a height of 30 m. The aim of the measurements is to show that innovative technology can be used to upgrade the line towards higher voltages without increasing noise emissions.
