Dr. Balthasar Fischer, CEO

Balthasar is a physicist, sound engineer, and musician. He is the inventor of the Membrane-free Optical Microphone and has broad experience in R&D and IP Management. Before founding XARION, Balthasar was with Knowles Electronics Austria (formerly PHILIPS/NXP) as an R&D acoustics engineer. He received his PhD from the Vienna University of Technology, Photonics Institute, where he also worked as a postdoc scientist and project co-leader. Balthasar holds a Tonmeister degree from the University of Music and Performing Arts, Vienna. He studied physics at the University of Fribourg and ETH Zürich after getting his musical training from Berklee College of Music, Boston. In the course of his career he has won several awards, including the Dr. Ernst Fehrer Prize and the Leibinger Innovation Award. Balthasar has authored several international patents.

Dr. Georg Zachhuber, CFO

Georg is a senior executive with more than 20 years of business expertise both as general manager and interim manager at board level and as a consultant. Georg has extensive experience in the IT and media sector and in high-tech, e.g., as member of the board at Bronner Online AG - and as Interim-CFO at UC4 Software (now Automic). Georg started his career at McKinsey as a management consultant. He was awarded his PhD in economics from the Vienna University of Economics and also completed his B.A. in business administration in Vienna, St. Gallen (HSG) and Graz. Georg invested in XARION as a business angel in the first round. In April 2016, he joined as CFO and is responsible for finance and administration.
