LEAintegrated

Contact-Free Ultrasonic Inspection Built into Production Lines

LEAintegrated builds XARION's LEA technology directly into a purpose-built production cell or automation line.

The custom-engineered system is developed together with the customer and their automation partner, tailored to the specific parts, production line, and required cycle time. It's built for high-throughput inspection of large-format composite and sandwich structures several meters in length, enabling fast, automated full-area scanning with a compact sensor design. The process is fully non-contact, with no water and no direct contact involved. That also makes it particularly well suited for moisture-sensitive materials, and reliably detects delaminations, disbonds, porosity, and cracks.

LEAintegrated is available as a dedicated robotic inspection cell, an inline gantry system, or a retrofit into existing NDT infrastructure, and has proven itself across aerospace and automotive. It is the right choice for production environments where large parts, high inspection volumes, or strict cycle-time requirements demand a custom-engineered system.

Hardware specifications

Each LEAintegrated system is engineered around the customer's part and production line, to meet the individual project requirements. Core building blocks:

  • Ultrasound generation: Laser-generated ultrasound, eye-safe pulsed lasers enable laser class 1 installations
  • Ultrasound detection: Eta600 Ultra Optical Microphone (50 kHz–4 MHz), 1-, 8-, or 16-channel arrays
  • Inspection modes: Pulse-Echo, Guided Wave, Through-Transmission
  • Data acquisition: 16-bit, 80 MS/s
  • Industrial PLC: I/O to external control and automation equipment

LEAstudio software & integration

  • Built on the LEAstudio scanning and analysis engine
  • Easy interfacing with externally controlled axes
  • Programmable API; robot and PLC integration
