XARION Selected for the European Defence Innovation Scheme (EUDIS) Business Accelerator
XARION has been selected as one of the Top 20 companies to join Cohort #2 of the European Defence Innovation Scheme (EUDIS) Business Accelerator with its project “Robot-driven Laser Ultrasound for MRO Inspection.” The selection highlights the potential of XARION’s contactless, laser-based ultrasonic technology for defence and industrial applications, particularly in Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul (MRO) environments.
The European Defence Innovation Scheme (EUDIS), an initiative of the European Commission, aims to foster innovation in the European defence sector by supporting start-ups and SMEs, developing advanced technologies for defence and security. Through programs such as the EUDIS Business Accelerator, the European Union seeks to strengthen Europe’s technological sovereignty and accelerate defence innovation.
XARION Project: Robot-driven Laser Ultrasound for MRO Inspection
The project “Robot-driven Laser Ultrasound for MRO Inspection” builds on XARION’s contactless ultrasonic inspection technology, which is already used in aerospace and industrial inspection environments. The solution combines laser-based, non-contact ultrasonic measurement with robotic automation, enabling a mobile and automated inspection approach for complex and sensitive defence components. This allows high-precision inspections without physical sensor contact, making the technology well suited for demanding operational environments.
Contribution to Advanced Defence Manufacturing and MRO
XARION’s project contributes to the EUDIS theme “Scalable Manufacturing & Adaptive Sustainment for High-Intensity Operations.” By enabling advanced, robot-driven and contactless non-destructive inspection, the technology supports the automation of quality assurance processes. This reduces manual inspection effort, improves efficiency and measurement reliability, and enables faster maintenance cycles of critical defence and aerospace assets.
Through its participation in the EUDIS Business Accelerator, XARION looks forward to collaborating with partners across the European defence innovation ecosystem and advancing its contactless laser ultrasonic technology for future aerospace and defence applications.
